What Does FaxTalker  Do? What About Storage & Image Quality?
The term "Fax" is actually short for facsimile and usually relates to a standalone fax machine.  Typically you would feed in a printed page(s), manually dial the phone number of another fax machine (receiving) which then prints out the original image on thermal paper or a plain paper copier device (offers better clarity).

Using FaxTalker eliminates the manual effort of the above and enables some new features.   For one thing, your computer will already have the image stored on it's hard disk ready for instant transmission, or it can likewise receive the document for you.   Either way, FaxTalker will offer you more reliable results.

FaxTalker also offers many other advantages over a conventional fax machine.   It can send documents like sales brochures to thousands of your customers overnight with the single touch of a button (BROADCAST).   Another approach allows new prospects or existing customers to dial into your Speak'n'Sell voicemail system to request specific documents from a spoken library of forms (ON DEMAND) just by pressing a touch tone.

It is important to note that "fax" sends graphics so anytime you attempt to copy an original document you will always lose some quality or resolution.

Consider this.  A typed page like a resume may consist of a few thousand characters (bytes).  When these same characters are made into a faxable format the resultant graphic file may then become 200,000 bytes of space or roughly 200 times larger.   Now consider the size needed for a picture or a business logo.

Remember that the more visual content there is on the page the longer it will take to send.  Also consider that smaller type will be harder to read when sent.

Although technically possible with FaxTalker we do not recommend accepting all of your inbound faxes. You should use your conventional fax machine for that everyday purpose.  There are many reasons for this suggestion. For example, not knowing how much space might be consumed by an unknown sender.  If you call one of our associates at 480 922-5500 we would be happy to explain in greater detail.

More Background Information About Fax
There are two ways of utilizing the FaxTalker for your business activities.

1) The first is referred to as 'same call' where the person seeking an existing fax document must dial in from their own fax machine using a touch tone phone.

2) The second approach is the most common and referred to as a two-call fax service.   This is where your caller uses a touch tone phone to define where they wish the selected fax documents should be forwarded once they hang up from you.  By the way, there are built in controls to limit your faxes from being sent to blocked numbers (ex. 911, 0, 900 #'s) or limited only to local phone numbers (7 digits).

As you might imagine, there are pros and cons to each of the FaxTalker approaches supported.   Generally we suggest the "two call" method because most people requesting a fax will not be calling from a fax machine and will wish it sent elsewhere.   This is especially true of those customers with fax cards in their computers.

Using the Caller ID option you can also be provided with the phone number and name of that requester which is ideal for demographical marketing.

On Demand (By Request) Fax Distribution (Broadcast)
FaxTalker is a powerful add-on module for our Speak'n'Sell interactive voice processing package.    Inbound callers to your system will be presented with a talking "roadmap" allowing them to navigate using touch tones to select whatever prerecorded voice messages and likewise whatever fax documents that you have made available for them to request.

You are not limited as to a fax's content or how many of them are made available.   If you wish, Speak'n'Sell can also limit access to those making FaxTalker requests only to paid clients via a password allowing you to charge a fee for the service.

FaxTalker truly makes your firm's products and services available to anyone anywhere accessible by telephone day or night.

FaxTalker will read your database list of existing client fax numbers and deliver them your prepared documents on up to 4 telephone lines automatically based upon whatever daily schedule you define.

For example, start the dialing job at 9 am and stop at 5 pm only on weekdays.  You can also start the job immediately to trigger a quick sale or response!

FaxTalker detects and reports successful contacts and answering machines as well as busy signals, retries and other uncompleted calls once the job is completed.

Fax phone numbers can be readily purchased from firms who specialize in this trade.   In fact, many computer stores now market prepackaged CD's loaded with this kind of telemarketing information that can be read by FaxTalker.

A Typical Fax Campaign
Let's say that you want to begin a national sales campaign to introduce your new blue widget to 1000 of your top product retailers using a fax broadcast.    To prepare, you run a simple test and determine that the fax (image of your brochure complete with text and graphics) takes approximately 1 minute to transmit from start to finish.

Using that example, this means that for every minute of operation 1 page will be delivered to a retailer on each of your 4 phone lines.  This works out to be 240 faxes per hour.   That means that the total fax broadcast will be finished in about 4 hours of continuous dialing on all 4 lines.   (This does not consider busy signals and fax machines which are eventually ignored after being retried several times over an extended period.)

You can also determine your overall campaign cost assuming the customer phone numbers are your own versus purchased from an outside list broker.   Assume $.08/minute for each minute of national long distance time.  That means that your effective distribution cost will be $80.   That eliminates the unknown delays and mailing costs of the post office.   Please contact us for other profitable telemarketing techniques using our fax and voice processing products for business.

If  you need to deliver a higher quantity of outbound fax messages, please contact us because you can have multiple hardware platforms in increments of (4) up to (24).

* Always check local regulations when making telemarketing calls.
The FaxTalker module for Speak'n'Sell provides 4 analog fax line lines allowing you to generate a very high flow of traffic.    Bear  in mind that because FaxTalker requires special hardware, it is one of the few modules that cannot be upgraded in the field.
