| Many corporations wish to have their inbound calls answered
automatically by SuiteTalker plus. A prerecorded greeting message
offers callers the option of touch toning their destination extension. Then
the call is transferred using the PBX with these attributes: 1) Modern telephone systems operate in either analog or digital mode. SuiteTalker plus requires the use of an analog port like you have at home. To determine if you have this feature available ask the vendor who sold you the telephone system in the first place. 2) To transfer a call you will need the flashhook feature which is handled by pressing the receiver button down for a moment. Once you hear a second dialtone, dial another extension, then you may hang up the phone to transfer that call. You would also use a flashhook to get a second incoming phone call if you had the call waiting option enabled. 3) Some older telephone systems create touch tones in the main switching box rather than on each desk phone. This may present a problem when trying to retrieve messages left in your mailbox because you need to hear the tones. You can test this out by dialing another phone extension and listening to touch tones created. 4) When you hang up on any call, the telephone company responds by sending an termination signal called a loop break. However in some PBX's these signals are completely blocked causing a voice system to stay connected even through the caller has left the line. You can determine this by having someone call you and then hang up. Then listen for a click/dialtone. If you need more help on phone systems call 718 221-1400 and ask for Brian. |
